Osaka Japanese Restaurant in Houston, TX received a plethora of rave reviews so when my husband and I were looking for a place to eat over the weekend we decided to try Osaka. The restaurant was clean, bright and airy, and the staff was very friendly and attentive. They even had samples of their special sushi rolls up front so customers could see what they look like. We were given a free appetizer which was fried shrimp but it was no ordinary shrimp; instead, they sliced it in half, placed a lettuce leaf over it and deep fried it so the appetizer was in the shape of a circle. This unfortunately was the best part of the meal.

Another great deal is Jane's Salad & Buffet at 274 Franklin St. It's a standard buffet place, with a variety of salad ingredients and a larger variety of Asian food - noodles, chicken teriyaki, tempura vegetables, and average quality sushi and maki. While most of the day Jane's is a standard buffet, after 3:00 PM, everything becomes half off and it then becomes a much more affordable option. The price goes from a little over $5/lb to just about $2.50/lb.

Mill Korean is a cramped Korean restaurant with a few outdoor tables available to eat at in warm weather. But though it's tight on the inside, the food is well worth the sacrifice. Pot pies are really tasty and you can either make them the traditional way, in the oven, or in a slow cooker. The end result will be great whichever option you go for.
